Earth through the porthole

How to launch a rocket into space, making the military angry but without starting a war, why does NASA say it is not a NASA rocket, and how to become persona non grata in a neighboring state in 5 hours?

On November 4, 2013, a Moldovan man stepped into space for the first time. At 07:14 local time, the first rocket of the Republic of Moldova’s space bureau took off from a secret spaceport.

The apparatus, produced by the Simpals laboratory and weighing about 150 grams, reached the stratosphere (30 km) after 2 hours and 47 minutes from launch.

To launch the rocket into the Moldovan airspace, the specialists of Simpals’ Space Development Department used a radiosonde filled with helium. Let us remind that previously, more serious equipment was used by different specialists of the world for similar purposes.

The research, carried out by the experts of the Space Development and Astral Travel Department, was carried out on the experts’ own expense, who had been gathering change money over the years.

The rocket landed in Ukraine, from where it was successfully picked up and returned home after five hours and serious problems at customs. Of course, it is strange to find a rocket with a camera in the boot of a foreigner… But all ended well, we were released, the rocket was returned, our employers were not informed about the incident.

According to Hellinor Knowards Whoisit, Director of the Rocket and Space Industry of the Republic of Moldova, “This is NASA. NASA rocket. At least someone is doing something in the country!”. It is difficult to argue with Mr. H. K. Whoisit.

The first flight of the Moldovan rocket was successful, as evidenced by the video from the camera installed on board.

In connection with the successful launch, the representatives of the space branch suggest introducing the date of 4 November as the Day of Moldovan Cosmonautics.
